What is it?

Anthem Strong Families and The Dallas Public Library Presents:

A SAFE PLACE: REAL MEN/REAL TALK” follows the resounding success of Anthem Strong Families (ASF) 2016 Dallas premier of the documentary Spit’in Anger.  Fatherlessness leads to many social ills including teenage pregnancy, high school dropout, drug abuse, incarceration and many others.  We want to provide a forum for men to discuss issues of fatherhood in a safe place—whether your father was present or not, and take a deep dive into what it means to be men of integrity and responsibility.  For more information on other great classes visit us http://bethechampion.org/events-classes/.

Guest Speaker: Rev. Charles Wolford, Associate Pastor, Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.

Reverend Wolford is affectionately known as “the hood pastor” because of his passion and experience working and communicating with under-served families, especially youth.  He is responsible for outreach and serves as the Executive Director of The Turn•Around Agenda (TTA), formerly Project Turn•Around), the social outreach arm of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.  Rev. Wolford oversees the entire operational and programmatic functions of TTA including public schools outreach, a family care pregnancy center, human needs assistance, a technology and education institute, an athletic league, summer camp and a resale store.

Rev. Wolford has more than 20 years of ministry and non-profit leadership experience with an emphasis in program and fiscal management, fundraising, capital campaigns, strategic planning, training and systems development.  His gifts include budget administration, organizational management, public speaking, teaching and program design. Rev. Wolford holds two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Sociology and Criminology from Wilberforce University and has two years of theological training from Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio.  He is married to Diane, and they are the proud parents of three: Charles III, Christian, and Deaunica.
