Alba Achito is an Indigenous leader and trained lawyer with experience working for Indigenous women’s rights.
Fausto Palacios is an afro-Colombian community leader from an area of ongoing conflict. Both are 'Guardians’ of
the River Atrato. They will be accompanied by Vianney Moya, also a lawyer and the director of Social Action of
the Diocese of Quibdó. The Social Action work of the Diocese strengthens the organising capacity of
communities and calls attention to human rights and environmental abuses. in this lecture, they will offer an overview of the struggle for rights in a context of ongoing humanitarian crisis.
