Through acting and music, this extraordinary group of performers will challenge conventional expectations of what living in a world without sight or a full understanding of communication or social interaction can be. From the stage, they will impart drama, laughter and joy with a live-music performance that will move audiences. From their hearts, they explore the space between disability and what is possible when communities come together to support committed artists ready to be challenged and empowered through creating an original artistic work.
In A Reason To Love, everyday life is examined through the interactions at “Kitty’s and Curls”, a typical hair salon. Characters experience love, loss, change and challenge when taking a seat in the barber’s chair, relying on the Kitty’s and Curls community of employees and customers to help with critical decisions in their lives.
"A Reason to Love is a joyous, transcendent musical theater experience that will massage your heart and leave you a better person. I am indebted to director Greg Shane, Theater By The Blind, and Rex & Friends for taking me (and a full house audience) on an uplifting journey into the land of love and acceptance."
~Barry Morrow, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning screenwriter
