Join A R E A founder and director, David Guerra, for your introduction to art collecting.
A R E A welcomes Boston Center for Arts (BCA) members and other art enthusiasts for an evening of conversation on art collecting in Boston. Hosted by A R E A founder and director David Guerra and BCA Membership Advisory Council Co-Chair Amanda Accardi, this event takes place at The Yard, Back Bay at 6pm. Tickets ($50) are required for this event and include a wine reception and collectible print, a tour of the current exhibition. BCA members are offered a special discount. Open to the general public, BCA members, and their guests.
Learn about the basics of building and developing an art collection, how to navigate the art market (including where to find exciting new work and know when you've spotted "the one"), and what to buy with your budget.
About David
Aynel David Guerra is a curator, artist and the founder and director of A R E A, a multi-format and interdisciplinary gallery in Boston that organizes exhibitions and experiences. David has organized exhibitions at Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, the Boston Center for the Arts, Villa Victoria Center for the Arts (VVCA), MIT Hacking Arts and The Yard.
Invited by Montserrat College of Art, he curated a site specific project at Gallery 301 during the month September, 2019. The project featured the work of Cuban artist Adrian Fernandez Milanes.
David was the guest curator of the 2019 edition of the Illuminus Festival, which showcased the work of 17 artists working on new media technologies and focusing on social, political and environmental issues.
