Description

Big Data. Business Intelligence. For many years, it seemed like you couldn’t escape those buzzwords when it came to data in our industry. But now in today’s cloud-capable world, the focus is shifting toward fast data, data lakes and machine learning to help companies transform data into information. And while most business leaders agree that their data is their companies’ biggest asset, all too often companies gather and store data faster than they can turn it into information. This seminar series will help you learn to unlock that data and identify future cashflows that can be derived from it through three focused sessions:

Delivering Analytical Insight within Any Organization,
presented by John Harris, Data Scientist at Solvaria
Organizations have many different data architectures, technologies, organizational structures and analytical platforms. In this session, John will present an overview of a way to deliver analytical insight under any of those conditions. With an API at its core, we deliver solutions that different teams can consume and build into the existing system whether it be a web application, email, dashboard or other method of delivery. R Server can project those deep insights all within the existing SQL Server ecosystem and can enable your sales teams, financial analysts, accountants, business analysts and other stakeholders to deliver powerful data-driven insights to decision makers within the organization.

Provisioning and Connecting to Your Data Analytics Cloud,
presented by Tom Raiseback, SyCom

Building a Data Analytics Foundation in SQL Server 2017,
presented by John Whitehead, Senior SQL Server DBA at Solvaria

Microsoft has built advanced analytics into SQL Server 2016 and 2017. This presentation will discuss these built-in features of the most recent versions of SQL Server, R Analytics and how they can support for data science activities in becoming part of your organization’s infrastructure. We will also cover SQL Server support for other operating platform such as Linux or Docker.
