A Performance with Radio Jarocho
Fri, November 4, 2016, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
Bringing you a band that is leading a new era of son jarocho, a traditional Mexican folk music, IBA presents, Radio Jarocho. They’re bridging this Veracruz musical tradition with the contemporary to bring you a sound that is entirely unique. This exclusive group features Zenen Zeferino, a Veracruz native who has dedicated his lengthy career promoting the tradition of son jarocho, and lead dancer, Julia del Palacio. The ensemble has mastered their distinct style in prominent venues and festivals such as the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage and La Casita at Lincoln Center. Zeferino alone has toured extensively through the United States, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Be a part of this innovative sound and hear it for yourself at our Mexican Día de los Muertos celebration on November 4 at 7 PM.
This concert was featured in the Boston Globe's World Music Picks of the Fall.
