Event description

Description

IMRA and the Munster Mountain Running Association presents a very special night of mountain running films at Cork Institute of Technology. Doors will open at 6PM, and we'll start the films at 6:30PM.

Paddy O'Leary grew up in Wexford, but didn't discover his love and talent for running until he moved to San Francisco. Now, he is returning to Ireland to take on the fastest known time on the self-navigated 115 kilometer 26 summit Wicklow Round, and to rediscover his home through the lens of running. Paddy & one of our filmmakers from Dooster Film, Dylan Ladds, will be there on the night to screen the film, "Coming Home - Ag teacht abhaile", and for a Q&A session.

In June this year, Corkman Paul Tierney set out on an epic adventure to summit all 214 Alfred Wainwright Lake District peaks in one go. His goal was to try and beat the record time of 6 days 13 hours and 1 minute, set five years earlier by fellow fell runner Steve Birkinshaw. We're delighted to present the film, "Paul Tierney: Running The Wainwrights" by Dave MacFarlane, and have Paul present for a Q&A session afterwards. Check out their great trailer to see what we're in for.
