A Night of Acoustic Classic Rock with Andy Browne & Friends
Fri, March 24, 2017, 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM EDT
ABOUT THE ARTIST & SHOW:
Following in the musical footsteps of his father, a professional big band drummer in the 30's and 40's, Andy Browne got his start playing drums in a series of (going nowhere) garage bands back in the late 60’s. While a near fatal motorcycle accident in 1971 ended his career as a rock and roll drummer, he managed to learn to play the guitar while staying close to the musical genre of his youth… classic rock and roll.
Today, Andy brings to the stage his love and respect for the “masters" of classic rock and roll but with a very interesting acoustic twist. He artistically transforms the sounds and intensity from his youth into a more modern interpretation played out on a single acoustic guitar. His softer interpretation of these “rock classics” has engaged audiences from as far away as the Pacific shores Costa Rica to North Port Florida. Here is your opportunity to relive your youth or discover what real music was all about in the 60’s and 70’s.
Tonight's show is a BENEFIT CONCERT for WKDW RADIO 97.5 FM with 100% of all ticket sales going to support Common Grounds and Community Radio.
Joining Andy on stage tonight will be several familiar faces lending their support and talent in keeping Classic Rock and Roll alive and well!
- On LEAD GUITAR and backup vocals, Richard Iron Crow
- On BLUES HARP and backup vocals, Roman Chicago Kuchirka
This night is designed to bring back memories with the greatest songs of an era. If you still got your clothes from the 60's (and they still fit), SHOW YOUR TYE DYED COLORS! :-)
