Event description

Description

a New Governance (aNG) holds it's first workshop to define data portability standards the 28th January 2020, from 9am until 12am, during the International Cybersecurity Forum in Lille.
aNG is a Standards Supporting Organization and a MyData Global Initiative that aims to provide clear rules for data portability in order to bring the best digital services to citizens.
It will not recreate the wheel but work from existing standards to implement, test and validate them in high value use cases.
100 organizations, with the support of the European Commission, are part of aNG. Universities, cities, companies, public stakeholders will unite to decide on shared rules together.

Two first use cases will be addressed by aNG :
  1. Dynamic CV at the service of lifelong learning and employment: make your skills and knowledge easily circulate and get the right training at the right time
    1. Sorbonne, Polytechnique, Stanford, EdTech France, Universiteach, Human Roads, EdTech Denmark, Vastuu, Hauts de France and more!
  2. Mobility as a Service for cities where cities offer data plateformes to their citizens in order to help them optimize and facilitate a diverse and easy and eco-friendly mobility.
    1. Paris, Lyon, Helsinki, Anvers, Ghent, Amsterdam and more!
Different types of standards have to be defined: legal, technical, design and business model.
aNG aims to implement the 'separation of powers' principle: meaning the organizations processing personal data are not the ones handling the permissions.
The first part of the workshop will unite cross-expertise groups on the use cases to discuss general rules and agreements.
The second part will split in expertise specific groups to dive deeper into the problems.

Objectives for each use case:
  1. Map existing standards
  2. Discuss first decisions for legal liability models
  3. Start discussions to define data models for consent
  4. Discuss standardization for data models
  5. Discuss ways of establishing the valorization of personal data
  6. Discuss UX frameworks for multi-party portability
The work will then continue online and through other workshops.
The use cases will serve as laboratories to test and validate discussed standards. The standards and discussions will be open.
It is a great opportunity for the community to come together and encounter people from all over the world that are working on similar problems to decide on aligned solutions.
