A New Florida Dream or Sunset? by Gary Mormino
The last program in the series is an appropriate finale to the previous discussions about education and race; labor and the economy; and the environment. Taking a look back at the 20th century, we will see how Florida grew from the least populated Southern state just before World War II to the third most populous in the country by 2014. Distinguished historian and author Gary Mormino will discuss how that happened and what Florida’s future may look like. The audience can participate in a discussion about how to keep Florida strong as we move further into the 21st century. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m.; program begins at 6:00 p.m.
