Event Details

Much of our case management is about helping people to overcome barriers. In this session you'll learn about how to use people's assets and strengths as the basis for working with them and how to use a structured coaching process to facilitate customers in achieving their goals. 


Course Objectives;

  • Understand the GROW model of coaching
  • How to help consumers establish and actually follow through on their goals
  • How to identify consumer strengths and assets and use those as part of the coaching process.
  • How to use agreements and individual and group coaching strategies to provide the best mix of supports for consumers. 

 

About the Trainer

Michele Martin is a certified Career Development Facilitator Instructor with 20 years of experience in career and workforce development. Prior to starting her career practice, she also worked as an HR Manager for two Fortune 500 companies. Michele specializes in strengths-based career and professional development and in developing and implementing creative workforce programs that address the realities of the 21st century job market. She also has expertise in using social media for workforce development and in working with a variety of specialized populations, including youth, people with disabilities, and dislocated workers. Michele has co-authored several Issues Briefs related to social media and workforce development published through the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University. She also co-wrote a 2012 Research Report entitled The State of the US Workforce System: A Time for Incremental Re-Alignment or Serious Reform?
