Consumers' appetite for mobile has become insatiable; whether it's smartphones, tablets, wearable tech or connected automobiles, mobile is the fastest growing platform we’ve ever experienced. These devices are inherently social, yet extremely personal; serving almost as an extension of who we are as individuals. They have given marketers the ability to get closer to their consumers than ever before, but with great power comes great responsibility.

During MLA & Celtra's Morning of Mobile Privacy, we’ll be reviewing multiple facets of the privacy debate, where you'll hear from the industry’s leading experts on topics such as LDA Compliance, IDFA, Cookie-less Tracking, COPPA Compliance and much more. Whether you’re new to the mobile space or consider yourself tenured, every attendee should walk away from this morning feeling more confident in their abilities to navigate the private waters of the mobile platform.

Agenda

8:30 - 9:30     Check-in & Breakfast

9:30 - 9:45     Keynote: Restoring the Faith

Mobile companies deliver great services for consumers and smart data use can make these services even more valuable. The use of data on the Web has led to a backlash of Cookie blocking, Do Not Track, Ad Blocking and more. How can mobile avoid these privacy pitfalls and change the dynamic to make it clear that they are on the side of the consumer?

Jules Polonetsky - Executive Director & Co-Chair, The Future of Privacy Forum

9:50 - 10:10    It's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine!

Users do not want to be "informed" about what is going on with information about them - they want their privacy respected. Ad-tech companies - with our spotty track records and conflicts of interest - are not who they will place their trust into. Limitations will be imposed on us and efficiency will drop by a couple of percent. We will ultimately have to adapt to this new reality, but the world will not end.

Jaka Jancar, Chief Technology Officer, Celtra

10:15 - 10:45   Privacy Standards & Regulations Panel:

The mobile platform continues to grow and evolve faster than any other platform we’ve ever seen and as new technology like Google Glass begins to emerge, so to do new concerns regarding consumer privacy. The Privacy Standards and Regulations panel will discuss the necessity for our marketplace to stay ahead of the curve through standardization and self-regulation, so as to avoid government interference.

Moderator:          Warren Zenna  Principal, Zenna Consulting

Panelists:           Gary Kibel – Partner, Davis & Gilbert LLP

Anthony Prestia – Associate Counsel, Network Advertising Initiative

Michael Signorelli – Counsel, Venable LLP

David Kahan - SVP, Legal Affairs & Chief Privacy Officer, Jumptap

10:50 - 11:00   Coffee Break

11:05 - 11:35   Mobile Privacy - Creating Digital Audiences in a World without Cookies

Cookies have always been an imperfect mechanism for online media ad delivery, reporting and measurement. On the mobile web, the challenges to utilizing cookies are even more significant; and for mobile apps, cookies are rendered almost entirely ineffective. What's worse, if you're interested in cross-device attribution utilizing cookies, the long term stakes are even higher. So what are the options? Apple and Google have (or may soon have) advertising identifiers and a number of potential solutions are coming from other industry players as well. This discussion will attempt to make sense of the intersection of these complex business and privacy issues.

Alan Chapell – President, Chapell & Associates

11:40 - 11:55   Developers' Corner - A Fireside Chat

As more consumers of all ages gain access to smart devices, they have embraced app downloading. But many app users have taken steps to uninstall or avoid apps over concern about their privacy. Data is imperative to developers as they continue to look for ways to increase retention and revenue, but where do we draw the line with tracking our users' behavior? In the Developers' Corner, MLA Founder, Dan Wittmers sits down with Tim Sparapani of the Application Developers Alliance to discuss in-app analytics, the importance and best practices of application privacy policies and how to make consumers feel more comfortable sharing their information with your app.

Tim Sparapani - VP of Law, Policy & Government Relations, Application Developers Alliance

Dan Wittmers - Founder & CEO, Mobile Leaders Alliance

12:00 - 12:30   Brand & Agency Panel - Putting The Consumer First

Mobile provides marketers the opportunity to get closer to the consumer than ever before and as big data begins to take center stage, it is imperative that we remember we are consumers first and marketers second. This panel will discuss what strides brand marketers are taking to ensure consumers' privacy is maintained while still driving quality and usable data for their brands.
