Event description

Description

Read to a Child is pleased to partner with The Skyline Club to host "A Mixer That Matters." This networking event will introduce guests to Read to a Child and its work to address the rising literacy challenges faced by students throughout Metro Detroit. This school year, Read to a Child is committed to providing over 1,500 one on one reading sessions to students in grades K through 4 at their partner schools in Detroit and Pontiac as well as provide 5000 books to students to add to their home libraries but THEY NEED YOUR HELP.

Join us for complimentary Chef’s appetizers, Happy Hour drink pricing and, most importantly, a room filled with a diverse network of Metro-Detroit’s nonprofit leaders and professionals. In addition, learn how YOU can support the mission of Read to a Child to foster a love of reading, improve literacy skills and empower underserved children by inspiring adults to read to them regularly.

Read to a Child would not be successful without the dedication and support of corporate citizens and the community at large. Thanks to supporters like you, for over five years, hundreds of students throughout Metro Detroit have benefitted from the Lunchtime Reading Program. There is still more work to be done and YOU have the opportunity to be a part of the solution.

We look forward to partnering with you to spread the joy of reading to children throughout our community!
