Event description

Description

Please join us on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Cornell Club in NYC to celebrate the life of our friend and co-author Lynn Stout, and the launch of our book, Citizen Capitalism.

As was Lynn's remarkable wish, this unique event will combine her memorial with the official launch of her new book. Join us as we share our reflections on Lynn's incredible life and work. We will also hold a moderated discussion of the ideas expressed in the book.

In Citizen Capitalism, we present a bold, dynamic, yet entirely practical proposal to dramatically expand citizen engagement in corporate governance. This proposal envisions the creation of a mega-fund in which every American adult receives one share.

Each share of this "Universal Fund" would provide income generated by the fund and shareholder voting rights. Unlike various trendy universal basic income proposals, the Universal Fund would require no government funding – relying entirely on donations from corporations and high-net-worth individuals committed to harnessing capitalism as a tool for building a better and more inclusive future.

A book signing and cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres will round out the event. The details of the event follow:
