Event description

Description

Indiana ranks high in the nation for maternal mortality. The rate of pregnancy-related deaths in the United States has increased over the last 25 years and continues to rise. More than 700 women die due to pregnancy-related causes each year and an estimated 50,000 suffer life-threatening complications, making America the most dangerous developed country in which to give birth.

The March of Dimes Indiana Chapter and Maternal and Child Health Programs at the Marion County Public Health Department are teaming up to bring a free symposium to physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, health care providers and community members focusing on this important and timely health care issue.
