After a delicious lunch at the beautiful Springfield Golf & Country Club in Springfield, VA, two very distinguished authors will be discussing their extremely intriguing and popular books. The event includes a question and answer period with the authors, an exciting live auction, an opportunity to donate to Assistance League programs and a time to talk with the authors and buy their books.

Dr. Sean McFate is a foreign policy expert, author, and professor at the National Defense University and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, whose books are based on his own experience as a former paratrooper and officer in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. His latest thriller, High Treason, shows he “ might be the next Tom Clancy, . . .The action is non-stop.” James Patterson.

Judith Pearson is an award-winning and best-selling author best known for The Wolves at the Door: The True Story of America’s Greatest Female Spy. It is the first book to tell the story of Virginia Hall and her amazing escape over the Pyrenees with the Nazis at her heels while wearing a wooden prosthesis.

Peggy Fox, an award-winning journalist and former anchor of WUSA, will be the moderator during the author question and answer period after the two author presentations. She is currently the Dominion Energy Media Relations Manager for Dominion Energy, Inc.

Agenda:

11-12:00: Registration, preview and purchase of the authors' books, viewing displays of items to be presented during a live auction and items representing Assistance League programs.

12-3:00: Lunch and program that includes: the authors presentation followed by a questions and answer period, a live auction, a fundraising opportunity and a time to meet the authors and purchase their books.

Tickets:

Please note that ticket purchasing requires entry of each attendee's name, their email address and menu choice.

$45 of each ticket price is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Last day for ticket sales is April 16.

Up to 10 people will be seated at each table.

Dining:

The menu options are either Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and asparagus or the Veggie Stack with grilled eggplant, zucchini, squash, mushroom, tomato and smoked mozzarella with pesto sauce.

Included with both menu choices are a mixed greens salad, rolls & butter, seasonal cheesecake, hot tea & coffee.

Soft drinks and iced tea are available for purchase with cash only. Credit cards not accepted.

A cash only bar will be available. Credit cards not accepted.

Parking:

The Springfield County Golf & Country Club provides free parking.
