These days, many people and companies in the United States sell fine artisan cheeses, but few have traveled as far and devoted as much effort as Formaggio Kitchen has to reach the world's best producers. Join our cheese buyers, David and Will, as they illustrate this point with stories and samples from one of our top lines of cheese - Marcel Petite Comté. Our classic Alpine-style wheels from France's top Comté affineur are truly some of the world's best, but they didn't come easy. David and Will will share tales from their pilgrimages to the Jura, letting you in on their quest to gain the respect and trust required to receive the highest quality wheels of Comté. Along the way, you'll sample the cheese at six different ages, ranging from young, milky-sweet Trois Sapins all the way up to extra-aged, extra-delicious Extra Grand Cru. (The latter is particularly special, as we're allotted only a few wheels each year around the holiday season.) You'll also taste them melted down in a big pot of our owner, Ihsan's trademark fondue, and they'll pair it all with their favorite wines.
NOTE: This class is held at our Classroom Annex, not our retail location. The annex is located at 67 Smith Place in Cambridge, and we highly recommend reviewing the directions available here.
