About this Event

Lord Smith takes up John Ruskin's idea of "a political economy of art" in his 1857 lectures "A Joy For Ever" and explores contemporary issues concerning the public impact of the arts. Chris Smith is the former Secretary of State of Culture, Media and Sport and now Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge and Chairman of the Art Fund, The talk is followed by a reception. In partnership with Sovereign Films. Free event but booking is essential.
