Did you know that there are almost 600 people in the target population who receive natural, Medicaid waiver and other supports living in their own home in the community? You can too!
Recently, The Commonwealth of Virginia entered into a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to create housing options for eligible individuals with DD in the community.
We invite you to attend an information session to learn more about the resources available to help people in the Settlement Agreement population access their own home in the community with appropriate supports.
Who is included in the Settlement Agreement Population?
The Settlement Agreement target population for housing includes Virginians with developmental disabilities at least 18 years of age or older who are in one of the following categories:
Living in a training center, intermediate care facility, skilled nursing facility and eligible for one of the Medicaid DD Waivers
Receiving Medicaid DD Waiver services
On a waitlist for Medicaid DD Waiver services
If this sounds like you (or a family member) and you are interested in knowing more about housing opportunities in the community, please join us for this information session!
Sheree Hilliard, Housing Coordinator, Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, will be the present this workshop and be available to answer questions about the program.
