Event description
Have you and your partner decided to separate or get a divorce? Are you concerned about the impact that this will have on your child(ren)?

About this Event

Divorce and separation in the United States have remained steady at approximately 50%. Many going through the process have a child under the age of 5. While this is a major transition for each of you , this is also a major transition for your child(ren). Children of parents experiencing a strenuous divorce are at greater risk of behavioral problems, academic, challenges, as well as developing unhealthy relationships in the future. Wondering how to get through this stressful process without creating undue stress on your child(ren) and maintaining your own mental health?

Come join us for a morning of information and support. Dr. Ankhesenamun Ball, a clinical psychologist and founder of Being Integrative Clinical Solutions, will be sharing with parents her tips and tricks for maintaining your, and your child's, mental health and well-being, while navigating through a separation or divorce.

This workshop is for anyone considering a divorce or separation, recently divorced or separated, as well as persons working with families experiencing divorce or separation. This workshop will focus on both the needs of the child, which often become lost during such a difficult transition, and the parent needs. This workshop aims to arm parents with the ability to better support themselves and their children through the transition of separation, while establishing new rules, roles, and boundaries in the new family model. It will be an interactive and engaging morning. Designed using the principles of adult learning, participants are part of the process and can practice newly found skills with others. We will be limited to 25 participants for this event.
