A Glass Armonica Family Concert

Adults and children will both enjoy this hands-on concert for families featuring Benjamin Franklin's musical invention, the Glass Armonica. Williamsburg musician Dean Shostak will guide participants in making sound with their fingers, a little water and glass bowls. They'll also hear compositions by musicians like Mozart and Beethoven written specifically for this unique musical instrument.

The program is presented in support of the travelling exhibit, “Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World,” on display at the James City County Library, 7770 Croaker Road, Norge through June 19. The exhibit is organized by the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary, Philadelphia, in cooperation with the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office, "Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World" was made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
