A Focus on Living Alone With Dementia, presented by Dr. Elena Portacolone
Event Information
About this Event
On January 7, 2021, Institute on Aging welcomes Dr. Elena Portacolone, as she presents information about a new, exploratory program which focuses on those living alone with dementia. She will share about her ongoing research, funded by National Institute on Aging (NIA), which explores social policies supporting older adults living alone with dementia, with emphasis on racial/ethnic minorities. In this class, she will also review insights on key informants to involve in her study in 2021.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
• Display nuanced understanding of at least three public health issues represented by the limited services available to older adults living alone with dementia in the U.S.
• Analyze at least two barriers and two facilitators to positive health outcomes for older adults living alone with dementia
