Event description

Description

Please join the International Affairs Society in welcoming our final speaker for an academic event of the semester, Ms. Semhar Araia. Ms. Araia is a social activist, international lawyer, and professor at the George Washington University. She is also the founder and Executive Director of the Diaspora African Women’s Network (DAWN), a non-governmental organization which strives to support and empower African diaspora women leaders. We are honored to host Ms. Araia at the Elliott School this month to discuss the work and significance of DAWN, as well as her views on US-Africa policy and African diaspora communities.
