We would like to invite you to our first Yoga worckshop where we will be spending a day “in the Zone” on November 12th at Summertown church Hall.
The practice of yoga provides many benefits on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Our aim in this workshop, is to guide our students beyond the physical benefits of the practice more deeply into the quiet space within.
We will be sharing a variety of different yoga techniques to help you create a deep connection with your inner self and a state of union between mind body and soul. This state of union or “state of yoga” is what many people refer to as “being in the zone”, and that is the aim of this workshop. We hope to demonstrate that we can each experience this inner state to the same depth, regardless of our physical strength or flexibility.
The workshop will be broken down into 4 steps:
1. Pranayama Techniques. (taught by Milena) 11 - 11.30am
Techniques of breathing and breath retention, which increase the pranic capacity.
2. Vinyasa Flow Asana Practice. (taught by Milena) 11.30am - 1 pm
A dynamic asana practice where rather than focusing on the depth of certain postures, our goal will be to maintain the consistency of the flow of breath throughout, and develop a deeper awareness of the subtle internal shift that occurs.
Bring your own lunch or visit one of the local cafes or shops.
3. Yin Asana Practice. (taught by Tim) 1.45 - 3.15pm
A passive asana practice in which we will relax into postures for long periods of time. You will be encouraged to let go of how your asana looks and explore the inner shift that occurs when you remain within your comfort zone.
4.Guided Meditation and Savasana. (taught by Tim) 3.15 - 3.45 pm
A guided meditation to help us to tune in more deeply to what we feel inside, mentally, emotionally and spiritually having completed the physical practice, stop "doing" and simple "be".
Final wrap up - with herbal teas and healthy snacks, a chance for everyone to chat.
