A Day in the Life of Real Engineers
Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM (EST)
The Central Florida Society of Women Engineers (SWE) section will be holding their annual "A Day in the Life of Real Engineers" event at Lyman High School.
The objective of "A Day in the Life of Real Engineers" is to promote engineering and computer science to middle and high school aged females through interactive presentations from professional female engineers. This event represents the chapter's goal to focus on outreach and inspire young females into the engineering workforce.
Around 200 girls from Seminole county schools including Milwee Middle School and Lyman High School are expected to attend this year's event. The students will be broken up into 5-6 groups and they will rotate through 30 minutes hands-on activity workshops.
Volunteers will help out with the workshops, chaperone students between workshops, assist at the SWE booth and help with lunch.
Attire should be casual and comfortable. Speakers and volunteers are needed for the event. Please contact Simonetta O'Riordan-Adjah @ firstname.lastname@example.org. Link to Flyer
