Event description
Join hosts Christopher Alfieri and Dawn DeDeaux for a spooky cocktail party to benefit youth voice in New Orleans

About this Event

A Dark and Stormy Night is inspired by the New Orleans Haunting Supply Co., the creative storefront of the 826 New Orleans Youth Writing Center in the 7th Ward. This annual benefit called one of the city’s best parties raises critical funds for New Orleans’s young writers. The spooky fun centers around a ghost story cocktail contest sponsored by Seven Three Distilling Co. and featuring celebrated bartenders from some of the city’s best bars including Elysian Bar, Bar Marilou, Bar Tonique, Josephine Estelle, Seaworthy, The Quisby, and reigning champ Saba . In addition to the cocktail contest, enjoy small plates from local restaurants including Turkey & the Wolf, wine from Bacchanal, a costume contest, a dance party, and a dramatic reading of young authors’ work by DJ Soul Sister and others.

Host Committee includes: Katrina Andry, Wayne Amedee, Megan Braden-Perry, Abdi Farah, and Anne Gisleson

When: October 24th, 6:00pm- 9:30pm

Where: Hotel Peter & Paul, 2317 Burgundy Street, New Orleans

Why: 826 New Orleans is a nonprofit that provides free creative writing and publishing opportunities to youth ages 6-18. We believe in placing marginalized youth voices at the center of conversations, and we do so by publishing young people's’ stories in beautifully bound books. Each publication is created by young people, for young people.

It's also just a great, one-of-a-kind party.
