Mark Satkiewicz (MBA ‘95), based in Steamboat Springs, CO, is currently an angel investor and is a board member of Thousand, a consumer goods firm based in Los Angeles. Mark served as general manager of the Americas at TOMS from 2016 - 2017. Previously, he was the president and general manager at SmartWool, a clothing company that produces outdoor and high performance apparel using merino wool, from 2009 to 2016. He was the vice president of sales at SmartWool from 2006 to 2009. After arriving at SmartWool, he worked to shift the company’s culture into one that “directly integrates employees into decision making [and has implemented] elected employee committees formed around sustainability, service, culture, and advocacy.” Mark began his career at Nike in 1995 and held a number of positions, including divisional footwear sales manager, until 2006.

Mark received the Quinlan School of Business’s Damen Award in 2014, the highest honor given to an alumnus/a. He has served as a member of the board of the Outdoor Industry Association, the leading trade association of the outdoor recreation industry, and philanthropically supports the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, Yampa Valley Medical Center, and the Children’s Cancer Association. Mark is a former elite triathlete and is currently organizing a gravel bike festival and race in Steamboat Springs.
