Description
Please join the Helene & Grant Wilson Center for Social Entrepreneurship on Thursday, May 2nd, for our sixth True Partnerships event featuring the Nobel Peace Prize-winning International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Launched in 2007, ICAN is a coalition of peace, human rights, environment, development and faith group organizations from over one hundred countries, awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017 for their role in achieving the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
Learn more about this inspirational collaborative effort, and join us in celebrating the contributions of Pace University’s own faculty Dr. Emily Welty and Dr. Matthew Bolton who are part of ICAN. Together they have been deeply involved in civil society advocacy at the United Nations, working on banning nuclear weapons and an array of other peace and human rights issues. Through their work in the classroom and across borders, this powerful pair inspires and empowers Pace students and the greater community through their example of goodwill, research and advocacy.
The event will kick-off with a networking reception followed by a panel discussion highlighting the journey of this celebrated collaboration and Q&A from attendees.
