A Conversation Series on Race in Wellness: Part 2 of 4

We're committed to doing something about the systemic racism and oppression that exists in America today - and we have our community to thank for that. Marquita Anderson will moderate an evening to discuss power, influence, and the wellness industry. This is the second in a 4-part series. You can jump into this series at any time.

Marquita Anderson is a producer at Chicago's NBC 5 who is deeply passionate about fitness - she's also an aSweatLife ambassador who is a Certified Personal Trainer.

She'll start the evening with a conversation with two powerhouse women in wellness.

You'll hear from Ashley Weaver, founder of BundleandFit.com, a wife, a mom of two, and a Certified Personal Trainer. Ashley is a proud graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science. Along with personal training, she has instructed several group fitness classes, bootcamps, and taught Barre classes. She's also a former NBA Dancer. Her love for fitness has also sparked a career in fitness lifestyle modeling. She has booked several national campaigns and worked for clients such as JcPenney, New Balance, Nike, Health Magazine, Shape Magazine, Advocare, Body Building.com, and she also works with brands as an Influencer.

You'll also hear from Ashley Mitchell, Barry’s Bootcamp Senior Instructor in Boston. As the daughter of a professional boxer, a competitive athlete, theatre major, and fitness professional, Ashley has uniquely experienced a myriad of physical and mental training philosophies, and has seen what works and what doesn’t from various points of view. Her background and upbringing have taught her to successfully navigate failure, fear, and discrimination, and use adversity to redefine her own success. Ashley has spent her life mastering those perspectives, and applying a mix of training regimens and nutrition programs to optimize what works best for mind, body, and spirit. Ashley now aims to share what she’s learned and help others to unlock passion, invoke courage, and reinvent achievement.

Jeana Anderson Cohen from aSweatLife will then share a training used to find and share your why before having a difficult conversations. Then we'll break out into groups to discuss and to build onto the vision for what's next (and aSweatLife will go and help bring it to life).

And this is the second in a series of digital events that will ladder up to IRL engagements as soon as we can gather.
