A Community Gathering / Una Reunión Comunitaria
How will we move forward in the current political climate? The new administration poses several challenges for our communities, our nation, and our planet. A series of open meetings will address how we will meet these challenges together. The first meeting of the series will focus on communities under immediate threat. You can help us define the topics for upcoming meetings.
Our Goals are
To affirm the values that hold the Davis Community together
To act together make our community a safe non-violent place
To assure a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable future.
For our first event, please join Davis Mayor Robb Davis, Yolo County Supervisor Don Saylor, City Councilmember Lucas Frerichs, and local community and faith organizations.
The meeting will include:
- Presentations by leaders of communities immediately under threat: immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQIA, and African Americans
- A workshop to share resources and plan solutions
- An opportunity to network on these issues
There will be open forum to talk about other issues of concern in the community.
If you need child care or Spanish translation services, please RSVP via our Facebook page. Specify the number and ages of the children.
Advanced ticketing will assure you room, but walk-ins are welcome: half the spaces will be for walk-in on the day on first come basis.
We ask you to tell us your top area of concern --- by choosing a ticket type-- so we can work to assure balance of representation from all segments of the diverse Davis/Woodland/Yolo County community.
