A CLOSER LOOK: EAST ASIAN ART AND THE WEST EDUCATOR WORKSHOP

Presented by: Freer|Sackler

The aesthetics of China and Japan caught the attention of Western artists and art collectors alike in the late 18th - 19th centuries. Engage in close looking, critical thinking, and reflective activities you can use in your classroom. As an option to further your experience, gain insight into the work of artist Kitagawa Utamaro with Julie Nelson Davis, guest curator of Inventing Utamaro at 1:00pm.
