CFP Yeah you know me!: Tips on writing abstracts for infosec CFPs
Look around at any technical or security conference and you will notice that there are not a lot of women on stage. There are several reasons for this, but one in particular which we can immediately impact: not enough women are submitting proposals to present at conferences.
This workshop is aimed to change this and help put an end to #manels.
If you are a woman interested in making 2017 your year to speak at a technical conference, please join us Tuesday, December 13th from 6-8pm in Clarendon to explore how you can prepare and submit a proposal to a conference.
This workshop will be led by Andrea Little Limbago, Endgame.
What this workshop will provide you:
An overview of what is involved with submitting a presentation proposal
An opportunity to ask three women their experiences with submitting a proposal, presenting a proposal and how to be successful.
If you are not comfortable being the sole presenter, how do you become a panelist?
A list of upcoming local and national conferences to keep an eye on in 2017.
