Delaware Technology Park’s (DTP) most recent initiative, in partnership with UD and Discover Bank, is the creation of a FinTech building where experiential student engagement and workforce development will be a priority.

The talk will address the ecosystem growth leading to FinTech, what is FinTech, why now, the impact on Delaware, the stakeholders and building details. It concludes with Discover Bank, a future tenant, and its intended community engagement with the Financial Health Network.

J. Michael Bowman

J. Michael Bowman is the Associate Director of the University of Delaware’s Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships (OEIP) and the State Director of the Delaware Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

Amy Walls

For more than a decade Amy WALLS has used her position as Principal, Community Reinvestment at Discover Bank to elevate organizations and causes that improve the financial health and quality of life for Delawareans. Amy manages community development activities to support the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance.

Bruce Webber

Bruce W. Weber is the Dean of the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. He is also a professor of Technology Management and an affiliated faculty member of UD’s Institute for Financial Services Analytics. His research examines the economics of electronic markets and highlights the new challenges facing traders, managers, and regulators in an increasingly computerized financial services industry.
