Event description
Weaving is a beginner-friendly craft suited for creative exploration and discovery. Let your imagination run wild with texture and color.

About this event

During this workshop, you will:

  • Set up your loom
  • Create a tassel fringe
  • Practice the plain weave and soumak weave
  • Learn how to finish your project for display

Supplies to purchase -- Please explore the links I provide and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

  • Loom (you can also make a cardboard one by making twelve 1/2" notches on the top and bottom of a vertical piece of cardboard)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Warp yarn (any color is fine!)
  • Wooden dowel (this is a 12 pack or you can just find a stick from outside!)
  • Knitting yarn in your preferred color pallet -- varying from thin to chunky
  • Roving (choose a color or two to experiment with)
  • Scissors
  • Fork
  • Pen/Paper
  • Ruler
  • Optional: Any string, ribbon, or yarn scraps you have laying around!
