A Business Intelligence approach to learning about AI use cases

Theme from Ben Franklin: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

Today, few business leaders understand the potential value and changes that AI/ML will likely drive in their businesses in the coming decade. Understanding will remain elusive until they and their teams are more directly involved with experiments.

We will review a common business intelligence problem, demo a live BI solution implemented for a local business, and explore options to use AI to enhance similar solutions.

  • Problems/Demo: Using Power BI to clarify project & client profitability patterns & using that intelligence to target more profitable segments
  • Exploring ML/AI:  Demo growing ease of using BI tools like Flow-Analytics to tap APIs of large AI providers like IBM & Microsoft.
  • Group Discussion:  With growing access to AI via APIs and ease of use in BI tools, how might we leverage both to solve common business problems?

Ian Bowman's Bio

Ian has recently founded WorkAdaptive, a Business Intelligence and low-code automation consulting firm nearby.  Previously, he spent a couple of decades launching, managing, and automating software-backed consulting services for midsize to global-scale companies.
