Event description

Description

Join us for an evening of Indigenous film, food, and music! "A Bridge to the Past" celebrates the contributions of Native people through these arts. The night kicks off at 6 p.m. with a lively reception featuring hearty hors d'oeuvres created by well-known Indigenous Chef Sherry Pocknett (Wampanoag) in collaboration with our in-house Executive Chef Lisa O'Connor. Singer/songwriter Kim Moberg Music (Tlingit) will grace the room with her acoustic folk/country and amazing presence.

At 7 p.m., make your way into the Plimoth Cinema for a special screening of the award-winning documentary film RUMBLE: The Indians Who Rocked the World, which tells the profound and previously untold story of Native musicians' role in helping shape the soundtrack of our lives - from Link Wray and Buffy Sainte Marie to Mildred Bailey and Jimi Hendrix, their impact has been essential to modern music.

Net proceeds from this event will benefit Plimoth Plantation's "Native Peoples of the Northeast Woodlands and Coast Exhibit Building," one of the key initiatives of our Illuminate the Past, Inspire the Future: Campaign for Plimoth Plantation.
