Event description

Description

Spend your lunch learning with Rabbis Abe Friedman and Yosef Goldman (BZBI) and Avie Winokur (Soceity Hill Synagogue). While we often think of Talmud as primarily containing law, its colorful and enigmatic aggadot (stories) serve to modify and even challenge the legal conclusions. Using the reading methods in Dr. Ruth Calderon's book A Bride for One Night, we will explore selected aggadot and deepen our understanding of how these stories work and what they tell us about the Rabbinic imagination.

Signed copies of A Bride for One Night are available for purchase in the BZBI Temple Office for $20. The course is free of charge but registration is required for building access.
