A Benefit for Sakhi's Swarna Chalasani Fund
Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EST)
New York, NY
When you make the choice to invest in a woman's life, you invest in hope, in families, and in the capacity for change. Over the past decade, Sakhi has awarded nearly $150,000 in grants to survivors of violence through our Swarna Chalasani Scholarship Fund.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate the strength and resilience of the women we work with at an event benefiting the fund.
Sakhi's Swarna Chalasani Fund was established in 2002 in the memory of a beloved volunteer who passed away in the tragic 9/11 attacks. Sakhi offers Swarna Fund scholarships to women who aspire towards educational or vocational goals of self-empowerment. These grants are designed to further educational and professional advancement, and enable women to pursue opportunities for gainful employment. These grants enable survivors to pursue opportunities that they would otherwise have difficulty accessing, in order to promote financial security.
Special thanks to the Sundaram Tagore Gallery for graciously hosting this event.
