Event description
Learn about the brewing history in the Hudson Valley and commercial brewing from the Culinary Institute's Brew Master.

About this Event

  • Learn about commercial brewing, taste profiles with samples from CIA Brew Master, Hutch Kugeman. Taste samples from some of the Culinary Institute's award winning beers in our historic Grand Parlor. Writer/Historian, Craig Gravina, talks about beer history culture, the state of brewing and beer making in the Hudson Valley There will be foods made with beer to pair with the beer tastings and take home the recipes.

So much history in the Hudson Valley involved the manufacturing and distribution of ale. Matthew Vassar, founder of Vassar college, built his fortune on ale production. The former Vassar Brewery was just across the street from his former residence at 9 Vassar, now the Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center.
