Jeana is excited to open her flute studio in the Brunswick/St. Simons/Savannah area. She has taught at Agnes Scott College, as well as the prestigious Woodward Academy in East Point, GA and she taught in the Atlanta area since 2003. Previous flute students have won positions in District Honor Band and Georgia All-State Band and several have gone on to music careers in performance and/or education. She also enjoys teaching piano, where her students have succeeded with such pieces as “The Lady Bug,” and “Dinosaurs.”

A native of Stockbridge, GA, Jeana played for four years in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and studied with Carl Hall. After performing with the ASYO at the Closing Ceremonies of the 1996 Olympic Games and soloing with them her senior year in high school, she went on to earn her BM in flute performance from the Catholic University of America, studying with Carole Bean and twice appearing as soloist with the college orchestra. Jeana continued her musical career at Northwestern University, where she studied with Walfrid Kujala and earned her MM in flute performance. She was a prize-winner for the Flute Society of Washington’s Piccolo Artist Competition and has worked in masterclasses with Janet See, Kathie Stewart, Stephen Preston, William Bennett, Göran Marcusson, Donald Peck, and Paula Robison.
