Artist Information

Mr. Cheeks (Lost Boyz):

Grammy Award winning rapper and actor, Mr. Cheeks, made a name for himself in the early 1990’s as a member of the platinum selling rap group the Lost Boyz.

The Lost Boyz gained world-wide critical acclaim following the release of the certified Platinum and highly acclaimed debut Legal Drug Money (Uptown / Universal 1996). The classic hip-hop album produced five Billboard Hot 100 and Top 40 singles featuring the hit song, "Lifestyles of the Rich & Shameless", the gold-status single "Renee", "Music Makes Me High", "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" and "Get Up".

In 1997, The Lost Boyz released another certified gold album entitled “Love, Peace & Nappiness” which featured another Hot 100 hit single, "Me & My Crazy World" and one of the groups most famous single , "Beasts From The East" which featured A+, Redman and Canibus. The group additionally contributed its "Renee" single to the ‘Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood’ movie soundtrack, were featured in the hip hop documentaries ‘Rhyme and Reason’ and ‘Statistic’, and appeared in Sprite's "Obey Your Thirst" television commercial.

In 2001 Mr. Cheeks released his debut solo effort “John P. Kelly”. The album featured the massive hit "Lights, Camera, Action!" featuring P. Diddy and Missy Elliott.

In 2005 and 2006, Mr. Cheeks continued on with his solo career, and appeared on various singles including Lil Kim’s hit song, "The Jump Off”. Mr. Cheeks also touts countless remix productions, including ‘I’m Going Down’ for Mary J. Blige, ‘You Remind Me’ a Lost Boyz remix for Usher, ‘Hands High’ featuring Elephant Man & Pee Duble, ‘Stress Ya’ featuring Jadakiss and Pharrell , and ‘Get By’ featuring the vocals of Kanye West, to name but a few.

Horace Brown:

A smooth R&B singer and songwriter who placed four singles on Billboard's R&B chart during the post-new jack swing mid-'90s. Horace Brown's first true break came in 1991, when Jodeci's DeVante Swing took a liking to his demo. Horace Brown subsequently worked with Christopher Williams, Terri & Monica, and Father MC, and was signed by Andre Harrell to the Uptown label. Horace Brown debuted in 1994 with "Taste Your Love,"and it managed to peak at number 38 on Billboard's R&B chart.

In March 1996, the mellow player's anthem "One for the Money," debuted on Billboard's R&B chart. It eventually peaked at number 14 and generated anticipation for a self-titled album issued that June. A pair of additional singles, including a duet with Faith Evans, were unable to surpass the popularity of "One for the Money." Brown later appeared on scattered collaborations , including Mr. Cheeks' "Friday Night," released some independent singles, and wrote and performed well into the 2010s.

Intro:

The trio Intro was comprised of lead singer Kenny Greene, Jeff Sanders and Clinton 'Buddy' Wike. The group's name is actually an acronym, standing for Innovative New Talent Reaching Out.
When the group released their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records in 1993, they offered a strong urban contemporary sound that featured a polished, yet neo-soul vibe. The album scored several successful tracks that did well on the charts and helped the group's debut album go gold. In 1993, the group released 'Love Thang,' 'Let Me Be The One,' and 'Come Inside,' all of which broke the top 30 in the R&B charts. 'Come Inside,' the most successful of the tracks, reached #9 on the R&B charts and topped off at #33 on the Hot 100. The album's final single, 'Ribbon In The Sky,' was a remake of Stevie Wonder's track and managed to reach #11 on the R&B charts.
