Multiple Dates
9th Annual Houston Global Health Collaborative Conference
Event Information
About this Event
The Houston Global Health Collaborative (HGHC) presents the 9th Annual HGHC Conference, a gathering of interdisciplinary professionals with a passion for global health advancement. This is organized by a multidisciplinary committee of students from different Texas Medical Center (TMC) institutions, and our goal is to unite the member institutions of the TMC for the furtherance of global health education, research, and service.
Instead of having a weekend conference as we did in pre-COVID times, our program will be offered in a 3-part series, discussing different global health topics with panelists and workshops. Our last event will be a satellite session of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health's Conference, featuring Dr. Maria Botazzi, Dr. Umair Shah, Dr. Maria Oden, and Dr. Rebecca Richards-Kortum as our keynote speakers.
Schedule:
02/25/2021: Sustainable Global Health Initiatives
03/04/2021: Health Policy and Refugee/Immigrant Health
03/11/2021: Consortium of Universities for Global Health: COVID-19 in Houston
Students and professionals from many schools and departments including public health, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, dentistry, engineering, and research will be joining together to make our visions a reality. Our goal is to increase collaboration to maximize efforts and information sharing in Global Health issues. Furthermore, this event serves to raise funds for student research projects and travel scholarships. We thank you in advance for your donations and support.
We hope you’ll join us for these exciting events and contribute to what will become a unique leadership effort reaching out from Houston to the world!
