Event description

Description

Carriage House Farm will be hosting the 9th Annual Farm Tour and Local Food Open House. The event takes place Sunday, September 9th, 2018 from Noon till 4 PM.

This event features a tour of the farm with a focus on supplying local food to regional chefs and retailers and will include wagon rides to the new sustainable agriculture site where you can see the progress of the new barn and future location for our on-farm market and honey processing. The event also features a nice list of some of the most talented chefs and artisan food producers in the region. All source directly from Carriage House Farm year round and/or work with us directly in our series of on-farm dinners. There will be a dozen sampling stations positioned around the farm so that guests can taste as they tour. Tickets are free, though there is a "donate" option that helps defray the cost of the event and keeps it free for others that may not be able to afford to attend. Tickets give us a more accurate head count

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This is a family friendly event! Children of all ages are welcome!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We will have a central parking area for all guests with hay-wagon shuttles running all-day. Handicap parking is available closer to event site, but we are a working farm and access for those on crutches or in wheelchairs will be very limited.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Alcohol is not permitted at this event. Smoking is not permitted in or in close proximity to any barn, on the hay wagons, or near food service areas. No pets are allowed. If you are a farmer or rancher and raise animals on your farm please make sure to keep in mind best practices when visiting our farm. No fireworks.

Why are there tickets if the event is free?

Tickets give us a head count. That head count gives an idea of how many volunteers and bites we need to have.

Why should I donate?

The event is free for everyone. Three years ago, we began offering the domnation ticket option. The event is well staffed by volunteers and most of the bites you eat come directlyt from our fields and garden. We try to keep the event free so that everyone can experience local food and an amazing list of chefs. If you are able to make a donation you can do so, at any amount be it one dollar or one hundred. It helps cover the cost of an eent that costs us a couple thousand each year.
