Overview

Celebrate the season in a grand way at the 9th Annual Christmas Together with Steven C & friends at the Cathedral of Saint Paul.

Multi-platinum recording artist and composer Steven C Anderson brings his signature piano style to the Cathedral of Saint Paul for his annual Christmas Together concert. Now in its ninth year, Christmas Together with Steven C & Friends is a moving musical experience that has quickly become a holiday tradition for so many.

Returning to center stage will be Anderson’s beloved 9-foot Bösendorfer concert grand piano. This piano has four more bass keys than a traditional keyboard (92), adding warmth, depth and richness to the sound. Its sustained tone also sets it apart. Piano aficionados characterize it as “the tone that sings forever.” Anderson recorded two of his popular albums, Christmas Together and Emotive, on this same piano inside the Cathedral. In concert, he makes full use of the Cathedral’s expansive acoustic alongside his musical guests, to produce an evening to warm the heart with fresh music and traditional sentiment.

Steven C will be joined by Grammy award-winning guitarist and songwriter Pat Donohue, Nathan Wilson on mandolin and violin, and vocalists Jillian Anderson, Kathryn Budzien and Jack Cassidy. In addition, internationally-recognized improvisational organist Chris Ganza will roll out the Great Cathedral Pipe Organ console and set it nose-to-nose with Steven C's Bösendorfer for a few musical numbers, and the Saint Cecilia Children’s Choir is slated to perform at the evening concerts on December 18 and 19.

“These concerts are my way of giving back to the community,” said Steven C, who underwrites the show. “Two years ago, a gentleman came up to me with a tear in his eye, and said that I had made his Christmas. Well, that made my Christmas. It's the reason I do this. It really is Christmas together.”
