NEW! BREAKOUT SESSION/NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES!

At this year's BayViro, we are planning on giving the opportunity to participants to host "breakout sessions" during the lunch hour, where participants are given the opportunity to collaborate and network with others who might share similar interests or ideas in the area of virology. Examples of breakout sessions could be discussions on counteracting the antivax movement, ideas for startups/collaborations, starting a podcast, or starting a journal club. If you are interested in hosting a breakout session or mini networking session during the lunch break at BayViro, please reach out to Isabelle Charles directly at i.m.charles@berkeley.edu with your topic of interest. These topics will be disseminated to registered participants and on the BayViro Eventbrite on an as-they-come basis to gauge topic interest, and rooms/tables will be reserved for topics that attract enough interest.

CALL FOR POSTERS!

We are inviting undergraduate & graduate students, postdocs, and community members to submit posters in topics relevant to virology. You may submit a poster title and abstract during your registration on Eventbrite or via e-mail with your name and affiliation to i.m.charles@berkeley.edu.

Poster Prize: The Cynthia Bolovan-Fritts Research Excellence Award will be presented to the best poster, which will be chosen through voting by conference attendees. This $500 cash award will be presented in the legacy of Dr. Cynthia Bolovan-Fritts who devoted herself to training and mentoring undergraduate and post-baccalaureate researchers. Undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to submit posters.

Poster Presentations: All poster presenters are encouraged to submit an abstract to be considered for a 10 minute oral presentation at the Symposium. Talk slots are limited. You can indicate your interest in being considered for an oral presentation on our Eventbrite. The deadline to submit an abstract to be considered for an oral presentation is May 15th.
