Volunteers and Students are recognized by honoring their service and academic achievements.  This spectacular event is also a major fundraiser for our student scholarship program for low-income parents. The scholarship allows parents to enroll their students in our after-school one-on-one Reading/Math tutoring program. The Volunteer and Student of the Year will be named and honored.  Great food, inspirational entertainment, fun, and door prizes! Donations and sponsorships are welcomed!

About the organizer

ARK Founder and Executive Director opened The ARK Educational Resource Center in 2013, along with her husband, Furman Sessoms.  The vision of the after-school program is to provide educational support to students who struggle academically so that they not only stay on track to graduate high school, but also to pursue college education and excel personally and professionally.  As a retired school counselor with a social work background, Mrs. Sessoms has the knowlege and expertise to operate a successul program with the help of highly qualified and dedicated volunteers. The ARK is currently recruiting high school youth and adult tutors, as well as youth and adult board members.
