Description

Oasis International - African Center of Rhode Island, a nonprofit located at 600 Broad Street in Providence that promotes and celebrates various African cultures in Rhode Island, will be celebrating its 9TH African Gala” on Saturday October 27th, 2018. The theme of the Gala is “Celebrating our Victories and Preserving our Heritage” The Non-Profit organization is celebrating 26 years of services to the community with a fundraiser to continue its youth program services.

The event will start at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, and silent auction at The Rhode Island Shriners Imperial Room in Cranston, Rhode Island; followed by dinner and awards presentation program. Music and live entertainment will supplement the gala event throughout the evening.

This Year Keynote Speakers is Neil D. Steinberg of RI. Foundation!

Christopher Mahr. Superintendent of Providence Public School will receive Oasis International Professional Achievement Award.

2018 Oasis International Community Service awards will be presented to the following: David Borts Esq, Charles Watson URI Engineering Assistant Director Diversity, Kamil Onipede USDA Web and IT Developer. Christine Cardoza CEO - Business Award

Kevin Olasanoye Esq. Executive Director RI Democratic will receive the 2018 Oasis International Young Professional Achievement Award and Lady Jonet Bush will receive the Presidents Circle Award.

Oasis International will be awarding college scholarships to students who have been leaders among their peers. The youths receiving scholarship awards is Olajide Akinjisola and Latifat Odetunde.
