Event description

Description

"Curiosity is the fuel you need to play the long game." -Scott Belsky, The Messy Middle

Scott Belsky is the co-founder of 99U and Behance and is now Chief Product Officer at Adobe. A generous, insightful, and strategic entrepreneur, thought leader and designer, Belsky is also author of the bestselling Making Ideas Happen and the brand new book, The Messy Middle. Come learn about navigating the emotional highs and lows of the messy middle of any startup -- be it business, art, film, or family -- and what Scott calls "the positive slope."

Scott will be in conversation with The Neurodiversity Project founder Jenara Nerenberg, who is also a journalist with the UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center, Garrison Institute, Susan Cain's Quiet Revolution, and elsewhere. She was a foreign correspondent in Asia for six years with Fast Company, CNN, Healthline and elsewhere and now hosts an ongoing author event series in San Francisco with The Neurodiversity Project.

Some quotes from the new book:

"Conflict prompts disappointment, followed by perspective and self-examination, and ultimately another attempt with a renewed sense of purpose."

"There's no shortcut to deep thinking."

"Whatever you do, don't fear tension and confrontation."

"When building a team, hire both doers and dreamers in relatively equal proportions."

This will be an intimate evening and seating is limited. Reserve early to secure seats.
