About this Event

**POSTPONED: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've decided to postpone this event to early fall 2020. Details are forthcoming.**

From yoga to "smudge kits," wellness is on trend right now. While wellness practices can help us to unwind and de-stress, they also raise major questions about cultural appropriation and theft from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities.

This event will highlight and elevate BIPOC voices in the Twin Cities wellness space. We'll explore ways that cultural appropriation shows up in the wellness space and ideas for practicing wellness responsibly. If you have questions about cultural appropriation and wellness, this event is for you!

Deanna StandingCloud (Community Outreach Coordinator, Indigenous Lotus) will serve as our emcee and moderator. Indigenous environmental health advocate Rochelle Diver will provide opening remarks. Our event will feature the following panelists:

Tickets are $10, and the price includes light appetizers. The event space is fully accessible, and ample street parking is available. Space is limited, so register early to secure your seat!

About the event host: Native Governance Center is a Native American-led nonprofit organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota. We empower grassroots Native leaders and Native nations by providing no-cost Indigenized leadership and governance tools.
