Event description

Description

September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.

Join Repair the World in marking the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy by serving in solidarity with our community by prepping, serving, and cleaning up a community meal provided by local nonprofit Mandala Cafe.

Mandala Cafe is a nonprofit committed to providing culinary training for those who are unemployed/underemployed, formerly homeless, formerly incarcerated, undocumented individuals and youth. Their weekly meal is distributed to community members with varying levels of food security.

This project will take place in two shifts. Please sign up for one of the following shifts:

3:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Volunteers will support in preparing the weekly meal and help package toiletry kits. *

5:30 - 7:30: Volunteers will support in serving and cleaning up after the meal. *

*Please note- All volunteers are invited to grab some food and eat with their neighbors. All volunteers should wear closed toes shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
